Pols and Polls

Reuters reports that President's Bush approval rating has fallen to a new low of 39%. A series of unfortunate events are dragging down Bush's numbers ranging from the response to Katrina, spending, the scandals in Congress, the Miers nomination, etc.

As it has been overly reported, conservatives are fuming over the Miers pick, one rumored to have been pushed on by Andy Card, the Chief of Staff, and Bush himself. Seems Karl "Boy Genius" Rove wasn't deeply involved on this one. Amid mounting criticism on his pick, the President has pointed to Miers' religion as a telltale sign of what kind of judge she would be. But when Roberts was nominated, the right argued that religion should not be factored in to confirm. When will we stop trying to meddle religion and politics

But where are the Domocrats? Do they really think that a "wait and see" strategy is the one to stick to now? If they ever had an opening, the time is now that the President has been weakened along with the Congressional Leadership. Now is the time to build the momentum to develop a strong agenda to take to the voters, building their case why they should be behind the wheel again.

For now I'll "wait and see" how the Pols respond the opinion polls.
